Dr. Dagmar Simon studied Political Science and German Language and Literature in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. She did her PhD, specialising in Political Science at the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 1989, she has been working at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB – Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung). There she works as a scientific officer of the Department of Research Planning and Coordination of the WZB. Together with Andreas Knie, she coordinates the project group "Scientific Policy Studies". Her research focuses on science studies, especially science systems in research organization and structure, as well as research evaluation.
